Installation for Nancy

  Installation View My installation is unique in that the intended audience is a cat, Nancy. It could be categorized as an example of Activated Spectatorship, though certainly without the typical political themes. Spectators (Nancy) are intended to play with some of the works, or at least approach them with curiosity and interact with them in some way. Twine ties all the objects together (no pun intended). The installation is comprised of everyday objects altered in some way with the addition of twine, which (for the most part) changes their function. If there is any commentary to the installation, it is a critique of consumerism. All of these objects with all of these functions mean nothing to Nancy.
